関西広域連合では、アーティスト・イン・レジデンス等、各地域の先進的取組を共有し、お互いのレベルアップにつなげるとともに、各地域の文化活動のキーパーソンの交流、人的ネットワークの構築をおこなっていく目的でシンポジウムを平成27年度から開催しています。
アーティスト・イン・レジデンスをきっかけにして、地域に来訪、制作する外国人の視線により、地域の住民が地域に根付いた文化の価値に気づき、地域資源の再発見や、新しい文化の創造へとつながると考えています。
第2回目となる今回は、信楽焼の産地である、滋賀県甲賀市信楽町でアーティスト・イン・レジデンス事業を1992年から展開している滋賀県立陶芸の森で開催します。
One of the three strategies of the Union of Kansai Governments to “create and publicize Kansai culture” is the “creation of new Kansai culture.” As part of this strategy, in order to share information on projects from different areas, improve the quality of such programs, exchange information between key people in cultural activities, and create networks to facilitate communication, last year we began to hold symposiums on the theme of artists in residence.
Artist in residence programs allow us to see things through the perspective of those who come from abroad to live and create art in local areas in Japan. We believe that this perspective helps local residents to realize the value of their native culture, rediscover local cultural assets, and create a new culture.
This second symposium will be held at the Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park, in the home of Shigaraki ware pottery. They have been operating an Artist in Residence program here since 1992..
